Craving of the Day

The craving of the day: Tomato sandwhich on white bread with miracle whip and 1 slice of white american cheese!

Recent cravings: Plain biscuits...nothing on them!

Cravings only last a day or two...but they are very interesting!

"The baby shouldn't have to deal with popcorn!"

So I came home from work to find that my husband had cleared everything out of the baby's room and had started to sand the ceiling!!! I asked him what he was doing and he said "The baby shouldn't have to deal with popcorn." I guess he wants the baby to have smooth ceilings! I hope he plans to do this in the rest of the house. Something tells me that he's a little bit excited about being a Daddy!

Holy Fatigue Batman!

I have never, and I mean never, felt tired the way I do right now. Honestly, I could probably sleep for 16 hours a day and be completely happy! However, teaching and babysitting in the afternoons prohibits napping. :( Everyone keeps telling me that once I hit 12 weeks I will feel better. I sure hope so! Only 3 more weeks to go! Well it's almost 8:00...time for me and the baby to go to bed! :) Night night!

Baby love!

Yesterday was our first ultrasound!!! Our little one had a heartbeat of 145 beats per minute. All looks good and healthy!!! Blood work, blood pressure, and the baby were perfect! 8 weeks down...32 to go! November 29th seems like it is forever away!!! I didn't think I would cry during the ultrasound...but I did!

Let the nausea begin

So, I'm officially feeling pregnant. I thought "Wow, this is going to be easy, I feel fine!" Wrong-O! I now feel sick to my stomach off and on all day long. I had my frist OB appointment on Monday. They just drew a lot of blood, did an exam, and made me pee in a cup (which apparently I have to do EVERY time I go to the doctor for the next 7 1/2 months.) My doctor gave me a due date of November 29th. Amy seems to think I'm going to have a "little turkey" for Thanksgiving, but I think it will be more like an early Christmas gift in December. Mom and Grandma are both rooting for December 5th. My first ultrasound will be Friday, April 17th. I'll be almost 8 weeks. I'm anxious to see the baby's heartbeat! I've enjoyed being able to take naps almost every day over spring break! I am not looking forward to returning to work on Monday!

"Want to hold the baby!"

I was talking to my sweet nephew Seth on the phone last night. My sister Amy was telling him that there's a baby in Aunt Dana's belly. He said "I want to see the baby! I want to hold it!" Only 8 more months Seth!

Here is a picture of our first baby gift from Mom and Dad. Mom had to go buy it before it was sold out. I'm sure Baby Palos will try to "Give Peas a Chance!"

Here are our nursery before pictures! I can't wait until it's no longer called "The Ugly Room!"

Are you patting the baby?

On Sunday we were at Mom and Dad's house for dinner. Molly was eatting dinner and I walked up beside her. She put her hand on my tummy and rubbed it. I said "Awww are you patting the baby?" She said "No, rice on your shirt!"

Put down the pregnancy tests....now back away!

Last Saturday, March 20th, I took the my first home pregnancy test for the month of March. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the faintest line you could ever imagine! I didn't even tell Domingo that I thought I saw a line. We went out that night to celebrate his 25th birthday! We went to Kabuto and went bowling with Dan, Erika, Molly, Oliva, John, and Lisa. The next morning I woke up bright and early and took another test just to double check. It was still faint, but definitely positive. Domingo was already up so I asked him if he wanted another birthday present (he already got a Wii!) I put the test in a box and told him happy birthday! :) He looked at it, looked at me, looked at it again and said "We are????" And I told him "I think so!" Then he said "Are you messing with my emotions?" hahahaha! Silly guy! He proceeded to read the directions that came with the test to figure out why the line was lighter than the control line. We have been trying to get pregnant essentially for 16 months. I went off of birth control in November of 2007. We started really focusing on it in July of 2008. And in March of 2009, we finally got pregnant! It doesn't seem quite real yet. I couldn't wait to call my family and tell them the good news! They were all so excited...I think my sister was the most excited! I'm having a hard time keeping a secret. All my friends know, but I'm not telling people at work yet. I went to the doctor last Monday and the urine test was again, very faint. Dr. Brown drew blood and called me the following morning to inform me that I was definitely pregnant. My hcg was 60! Since last Saturday, I've taken 7, yes 7, pregnancy tests. 5 at home and 2 at the doctors office. Domingo said "Step away from the pregnancy tests!" I took one this morning and it was definitely darker than the previous tests. I think I finally believe it! Although...there is still one more test waiting in the drawer in the bathroom...
